This route is an easy and flat route for everyone. It will take the visitor from Dow's Lake through the Arboretum, via the Experimental Farm with a loop to the Ottawa River. Along the Ottawa River, you will cycle east bound towards downtown, with fantastic views of Parliament Hill when passing the war museum. The path continues behind Parliament Hill towards the Rideau Locks, part of the Rideau Canal system, a world heritage site. Follow the Canal all the way back to Dow's Lake. This route can be busy with over 3000 cyclists a day along the river. However, the entire route is on seperate pathways, except a few km on the Experimental Farm, which has very quiet roads with a maximum speed of 30 km/h Points of Interest: Canal, Lansdowne Park, Dow's Lake, Hartwells Locks, Arboretum, Experimental Farm, Ottawa River, stone sculptures, War musuem, Parliament Hill.
