Albrechtsburg Castle Albrechtsburg Meissen Castle filled with art & history, purported to be Germany's oldest, overlooking the River Elbe.
The Kreuzstein is one of the oldest landmarks in Boritz. It is made of sandstone with a visible height of 132 cm. In the Middle Ages, atonement crosses were set as penance for acts of violence by members of the ruling aristocratic class. A documented mention of grain interest shows that the cross was already there in 1540. Another tradition says that on July 17, 1613, two maids from the vicarage, who were returning from the field, were struck by lightning at the crossroads. The mortises indicate a lost inscription plate.
Nixstein Strehla - mystical, legendary mermaid. The Nixstein is home to beavers, ducks, swans, gray herons, great white herons, frogs, toads, exes, snakes and many insects. Songbirds breed in the bushes and early in the morning you can also spot the occasional deer here.
